Wildlife Exclusion

Knockout Pest Control helps address wildlife entry with property inspections, suitable exclusion methods and repairs to agreed gaps and openings.

Finding Where Wildlife Gets Inside

Helping Address Wildlife Access at the Source

  • Inspect Accessible Entry Areas
We assess rooflines, vents, soffits, crawlspace openings and other accessible locations for evidence of wildlife entry.

  • Check Activity Before Closing Openings
We assess signs of occupancy and possible dependent young before planning how and when entry points can be secured.

Practical Measures to Help Prevent Re-entry

Secure the Openings Wildlife Can Use

  • Apply Suitable Exclusion Methods
Where appropriate, we use one-way doors or other suitable methods to manage exit and restrict return access. Recommendations depend on the animal and inspection findings.

  • Repair and Reinforce Agreed Entry Points
We seal specified gaps and holes and reinforce vulnerable openings within the approved scope. Any additional repair requirements are explained separately.

"If you live in Burnaby and you have a pest problem look no further than Knockout Pest Control. Ryan has helped me for over 10 years with everything from ants to raccoons and he knows his stuff.

He is very thorough. At one house I had squirrels in my attic and while the previous owner had another company block most of the entry points they missed some and Ryan solved the problem and installed a one way door so the squirrels could not get back in once they left.

The previous owner used poison and that left a few dead carcasses in the attic. As import as being good is, just as import is being honest. Ryan will only recommend and do what is needed. If there is another trade like a roofer that can fix a problem better than him, he will recommend that - this is being honest and recommending to customers what is best for them. I could not recommend Knockout Pest Control more!"

Wildlife Exclusion FAQs

1. What does wildlife exclusion include?

It can include assessing entry points, arranging suitable exclusion and sealing or reinforcing openings. Your proposal identifies the exact work included for your property.

2. Can you help if I hear scratching in the attic?

Yes. Describe where and when you hear the noise. We inspect accessible relevant areas for evidence before recommending a service.

3. Will removing an animal prevent it from returning?

Removal alone may leave the original access point available. We assess entry routes and recommend suitable repairs to help reduce the chance of re-entry.

4. Should I block a hole where I have seen an animal entering?

Arrange an assessment before closing a suspected active opening. We check occupancy and explain the appropriate sequence so animals are not inadvertently trapped inside.

5. How do one-way doors work?

A suitable one-way device allows an animal to exit while restricting return through that opening. We assess whether this approach is appropriate for the animal and property conditions.

6. What happens if there are young animals inside?

Possible dependent young affect the exclusion plan and timing. We assess the situation before recommending exit devices or closing openings.

7. Do you repair damaged vents and other openings?

We can assess these areas and explain suitable exclusion repairs. Your quote specifies the sealing, reinforcement or replacement work included.

8. How long will the work take?

Timing depends on occupancy, access and the repairs needed. Some work requires multiple visits, and we explain the proposed sequence before starting.

9. What if I notice wildlife activity after the service?

Contact us with details of the location and activity. We review the concern and explain any further assessment or work under your agreed service terms.

10. How much does wildlife exclusion in Burnaby cost?

The quote depends on the findings, access requirements and work involved. Request an assessment so we can explain the recommended service and cost before you approve it.
